Answer - Only for containerized cargo. General Cargo, Machinery and Vehicles are allowed
directly into the Zone without prior nomination.

Q3 - Is custom duty to be paid for cargo kept in the Zone for re-export to other countries worldwide?
Answer - Custom duty is applicable only for cargo released to local Saudi market.

Q4 - What is the allowable storage time period?
Answer - Three years.

Q5 - Can I store Transit goods in the Zone?
Answer - Yes

Q6 - Can Transit goods be transported by land?
Answer - Yes, to neighboring countries pursuant to the transit rules.

Answer - Yes

Q8 - Can I consolidate cargo from local and international suppliers inside the Zone?

Q12 - What is the Customs Duty rule for cargo sold from the Zone to a customer inside Saudi Arabia who holds a valid custom duty exemption certificate?
Answer - If the customer holds a valid duty exemption certificate, he will not pay custom duty for goods even if purchased from a mediator inside the Zone.

Q13 - Will there be a team of Customs personnel in the Zone?
Answer - Yes, with full authority to facilitate procedures.

Q14 - Do I have to lease additional administrative offices inside the Zone?
Answer - No, all warehouses are supplied with water, electricity (3-PHASE) & communication facilities. Also equipped with fire fighting system, administrative office, a kitchen, and a toilet. Security services are available 24 hours.

Q15 - Are lease holders allowed to construct warehouses?
Answer - Yes

Q16 - Do I have to pay for water, electricity and sewage connections?
Answer - Yes, at prevailing rates.
